Sure, there are your average ones for having the highest GPA or the best scores in Math, but not everyone has a chance at those. With those, there’s always going to be those one or two over achievers who have these scholarships completely locked up.

Other Weird Scholarships?
There are some more that have criteria that is a little more refined, like the scholarship opportunities that exist for women or for minorities, but there are still plenty of qualified candidates for these, and you’re not guaranteed success. That doesn’t mean you can’t get any scholarships though. Just do a little bit of research! Check out what we’ve found here!
They literally have weird scholarships for everything, you’d be surprised. You might be able to get $50 just because you have blue eyes. Or, you might qualify for one just for living in a certain neighborhood. Ask your parents too, sometimes their employers offer great scholarships. With those, nothing relies on you. If your parents’ employer offers one, you’re in luck! But that’s not all either. There are even stranger ones out there. Have a great interesting in candy? I mean, who doesn’t? Well, there’s a scholarship for that. If you’ve shown a great interest in candy and the technology it uses, you can apply for the National Candy Technologists Scholarship. Or, you could apply for the Chick Evans Scholarship. No idea what that one is? It’s available to prospective college students who’ve spent time caddying.

Overall, there’s a plethora of ones you could choose and apply for. It simply comes down to what you’re interested in. Each student is unique and different from one another.
What you have to do is simple; you just need to do some research into what interests you. You do that and you can find a scholarship that not only fits you, but benefits you. It doesn’t get any better than that! You basically get money just for being yourself and exploiting something you’ve always loved. Just remember all this when you’re going through the strenuous college application process. Don’t let it bog you down. Take a few minute break from worrying about your SAT scores and think about what interests you and what you really like. Take that information and do a little bit of fun research and search for some unique scholarships. They’re out there and you can get them, all you have to do is look for them.
